Tallow Home Co was born from the same soil that shaped our family—years of gardening, growing, creating, and finding beauty in the simple, intentional moments of homestead life. What began as a small cut-flower and produce farm in Ravenna, Michigan has evolved into a brand dedicated to nurturing home, health, and heartfelt living.
Our journey didn’t start with generations of big tractors or hundreds of acres. It started with childhood memories of mowing the lawn on an old dark-green ride-on mower, helping Dad weed row after row of beans, and learning early on that tending the earth creates discipline, gratitude, and deep respect for the land. It started with Ryan spending his days exploring local trails, cooking, moving his body, and discovering a love for wellness long before he knew how closely it would someday connect to farming and natural living.
After his time in the Army, Ryan searched for a way to be part of the solution—to live with purpose and make a meaningful impact. One day he stumbled across videos on small-plot farming, and something clicked. The spark grew into passion, which paired perfectly with Courtney’s lifelong love for gardening and flowers. In 2020, that passion turned into action, and our first season began—messy, exciting, humbling, and full of lessons (including the death of over 1,000 seedlings we laugh about now).
As our family grew, so did our purpose. We realized that what we valued most wasn’t just growing food or flowers—but cultivating a life centered around wellness, nourishment, and the quiet beauty of home. This naturally led us to creating products that support the body, soothe the mind, and bring comfort to everyday life. Products like our handcrafted tallow skincare, cozy seasonal candles, and the meaningful, nature-rooted goods we’re now known for.
